Dr. Susan Bodnar-Deren’s work on breastfeeding among Black and Latina mothers won editor’s choice for 2013!

Dr. Victor Chen’s work on unemployed autoworkers in the US and Canada was awarded the 2012 Thomas A. Kochan and Stephen R. Sleigh Best Dissertation Award from the Labor and Employment Relations Association.  A book based on this research will be published by the University of California Press later this year. See reviews and discussions of his work on BBC News, the New York TimesBill Moyers Journal, and NPR.

Dr. Jesse Goldstein recently received his PhD from City University of New York (CUNY after successfully defending his dissertation titled “Planetary Improvement: Discourses and Practices of Green Capitalism in the Cleantech Space.” His next projects include entrepreneurship and what it means as an increasingly normalized form of labor in the 21st century economy as well as looking at a number of different approaches to localism – specifically Slow Money, degrowth, and permaculture. He remains an active member of Occuprint, which supports the ongoing production of social movement print culture.
