Dr. Mohammed el-Nawawy is Director of the Board of Doctoral Studies and Professor in the Media Studies Program at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. He is on leave from his job at Queens University of Charlotte, where he is the Charles A. Dana Professor of International Communication and Middle Eastern Studies. He is the author and co-author of numerous books: Revolutionary Egypt in the Eyes of the Muslim Brotherhood: A Framing Analysis of Ikhwanweb (Rowman & Littlefield, 2018); Egyptian Revolution 2.0: Political Blogging, Civic Engagement and Citizen Journalism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013); Islam dot Com: Contemporary Islamic Discourses in Cyberspace (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009). He has also published in several scholarly, peer-reviewed international journals. His work on Arab media has attracted the attention of the popular Western press. He has been interviewed by several prestigious media organizations, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, CNN and NPR.
