New H&S Scholarship Website
December 19, 2014
The College of Humanities and Sciences has introduced a new website, vcu.academicworks.com, with information and an online application process for the over 100 scholarship opportunities we offer to currently enrolled students. The system features a searchable database of opportunities and details the requirements for each. This system will offer a more student-centric experience, streamlines our administrative and fiscal managements of scholarships, and allows us to improve stewardship of our donors who invest in our students.
The application submission period begins January 1 and closes February 15, 2015. Applications and supplemental materials should be submitted electronically through the link above.
Applications and supplemental materials (including letters of recommendation) will be submitted electronically through the link above. Only applications submitted through the site will be considered. If students have questions, please direct them to Caitlin Hanbury, Stewardship Manager at: cshanbury@vcu.edu.
The amount of each scholarship varies as determined by the VCU Foundation Policy. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2015 unless otherwise noted. If you have questions about applying, see your advisor or department chair, or email Caitlin Hanbury in the Dean’s office at cshanbury@vcu.edu.
Recipients of scholarships through the College are asked to participate in stewardship activities that are coordinated by the VCU Foundation and/or the Office of the Dean. Such activities may include writing a letter of thanks to the donor(s) and attending special functions. Scholarship recipients may be featured in College or university communications.
The review process for scholarships will also take place electronically through the new system. Application review will occur February 21 through March 21, 2015. Awards will be made early through late summer.
Additional scholarship opportunities are available to incoming freshmen and transfer students through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, as well as through The Honors College.
