Methodologist and data analyst, frequently working with the VCU Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory on state and national projects in the areas of sexuality, youth risk behavior, and HIV/AIDS.
Julie A. Honnold, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Sociology at VCU. She received her PhD in Sociology from the University of Denver in 1974, MS in Sociology from the University of Denver in 1969, and BA in Political Science from Knox College in 1967. Dr. Honnold will be assuming the responsibilities of Graduate Program Director in Sociology in the spring of 2014.
Since coming to VCU in 1974, Dr. Honnold’s primary research activities have been conducted as a methodologist and data analyst with the VCU Survey and Evaluation Research Laboratory. Since the early 1980s, she has been involved in a wide variety of projects for local, state, and national clients. Dr. Honnold’s most extensive experience at SERL has been on policy-related projects in the areas of sexuality, youth risk behavior, and HIV/AIDS. In addition, she frequently works with colleagues in Sociology as a data analyst on joint projects.
